One Night Filled With Lots of HELL
What a weird and traumatic night I had. It had to do with domestic violence, police, car chases, fear, etc. It all started when I went to dinner at 7pm with Sweetness. I picked her up from work, and we drove to Denny's. Right before she got in my car, she hung up with her boyfriend. I could tell she was irritated, but she said it was about work. I'm like, "ok." So, we're sitting there, and we get our food. Her man called her again and was telling her that he was headed to denny's. He said he needed to talk to her. When he finally arrived, he called Sweetness and told her to go outside so they could "talk". She went outside, leaving me in Denny's with the food. I sat there a while, then started calling people. My mother called and I told her what was going on. She said she was going to go to Denny's and make sure he didn't do anything to me or her. It had been like 20 minutes, and sweetness still wasn't back. Then Dee called me saying that Sweetness and her man had just left her house. They had banged on the door and he pulled Sweetness in the house and interogated Dee about the men Sweetness was cheating on him with. Dee denied she knew anything, but he acted like she was lieing, but he still left. My mom finally got to Denny's and ordered some food for her and Danielle. We were talking about it for a second, then Dee called me again. She told me that Sweetness and her man hadn't left her house yet. They were sitting in his car outside her house. Dee brought Sweetness the phone, she was crying. Me: What do you want me to do? M: What am I suppost to do? Is she okay? Then I hung up with Dee. So we finished eating, what I could eat, and then we went to Walmart to pick up some stuff. When I pulled up, I got out of the car with Danielle, my mom was already in the store. I walked past two Assistant Managers. Jeff: UPC offic. So my mom stood at the entrance. I told her what Jeff said, then I went to the office to check on her. She sat there crying. I didn't know what to do. I tried to comfort her, but she just cried more. Assistant manager Frank asked if she wanted him to see if her man was still in the store. So he went to go look, but came back with nothing. Eventually, Sweetness called her mother and asked if she and her kids could stay there for a few days. Of course, her mother said yes. So, we were off to get the kids. I drove as fast as I could, without getting a speeding ticket. We made it all the way to a corner store near her street and parked. She dialed 911, so we could have a couple of officers go in and get her kids so there wouldn't be a confrontation with him. First 911 kept ringing and ringing and ringing, so we hung up and dialed again, the next 5 or 6 times the line was busy. God forbid you had a REAL emergency. Finally we called and got someone to pick up after 3 rings. After being transfered to the Sheriff's department they said we weren't priority, but they'd get someone there as soon as possible. Sweetnes wanted to drive down the street next to hers to see if his care was at the house, which we didn't see. So, we drove around the block and down her street a bit. That was, until this big old truck, that I knew looked familiar, was coming straight at us. (by this time, Dee was on the phone with me, and I had just thrown it at Sweetness) Sweetness yelled that we needed to go now. We thought it was him, so I tried to turn as quick as possible. I had to go reverse to not hit the curb or fence. Then we zoomed forward. The truck was right on us, so I turned the corner as quick as I could (it was raining pretty good). At the end of the street, I decided to make a left instead of a right. Most people make rights. Well, the truck went the same way as us. I didn't stop at the next stop sign, I just zoomed through it. I turned the next right, then went as fast as I could to the light about a mile down the road. The truck was old, so it had a hard time keeping up. By the time I got to the light, the truck was way back. I made another right and went as fast as I could down the street. I saw the headlights of the truck turn the corner, but he obviously didn't know where we went. He ended up making a U-turn. So, we drove to Sweetness' kids school and parked in the parking lot. Then we called the cops again because we had changed locations. 911 transfered us to the Sheriff's again, but they told us to call the Bakersfield Police department. They gave us the number, but my phone was on the verge of dieing once again (my charger had been busted for two days, and I had only charged it an hour today). So, we called them and they said they'd send someone as soon as they could. A few minutes later, the phone starts to ring. When I push the talk button, it dies. My battery was dead! I'm looking around, cause I knew the number was the Police department (which I later found out was the police department. A woman left a message for us to make ourselves known because a car was looking for us). We did flash our lights when we saw the police car, even though we didn't get the message at the time. Again Sweetness had to tell them what happened. We finally got to the house, and the officers walked up to the door. But his brother answered, telling them that he wasn't there and neither were the kids. He had taken the kids so Sweetness couldn't. Sweetness got out of the car, while I waited in it (having to pee really badly). They went in and called Sweetness' cell phone, which her man had taken from her earlier at Dee's house. One officer was talking to him about how he needed to bring the kids back or they would file charges against him. They weren't going to arrest him, but he needed to bring the kids back. The other officer was saying to tell him he had 20 minutes before they started the paper work. So, he said he'd be there in 15. In the mean time, I had gone to the bathroom. Then Sweetness and I got some clothes read for the kids to take to her mother's house. We got them together, then took them to the car and put them in the trunk. Then we sat in the car and waited. It turned out that her man didn't come bring the kids back, his mother did. He was afraid they'd arrest him. So, the kids got out of the car and ran and got in mine. They hugged me, then sat down and buckled. After the police left, we did too. I dropped them off at Sweetness' mother's house, then I went to walmart to inform Jeff (who had left not 5 minutes before I got there), because he was a good friend of Sweetness', that she was fine. But I told Frank instead, who told me to have her call him when she got a chance. After that, I left to go home. When I got here, I plugged my phone into my new charger. Only to find that I had a lot of messages. Mostly from my mother saying that I needed to call her or she'd call the police to look for me. Then one was Dee trying to find out what happened, another was Jacie from walmart saying I needed to call her, and another from Sergio to have me call him. I called Sergio from my house phone, but then Dee called my cell. I told him to hold on, so Kayla talked to him. I gave Dee all the details she didn't know. Then I hung up with her after talking a while, then went back to Sergio. Oh, the domestic violence was that Sweetness' man had hit her multiple times. I didn't find out until we were leaving walmart to go get her kids. I was pissed. My chest was burning and my hands were shaking. You NEVER hit a woman! Well, that was my night. I'm now going to write a bit of my Mutant X Fanfic, and rest for work tomorrow. Night all. Hai |
